Blog Experience

I think that my experience in the English class III, in general, can be defined as exhausting. Also, I think the difference between level II and III is very huge.
The level change I found it very abrupt.

However, I think that this notorious change was of great help to me. It helped me to discover what were my weaknesses and strengths and how to strengthen those areas more weak.

The creation of the blog was something totally new for me because in English II we hadn’t worked this way. I was struck by the methodical that the classes were so, from the beginning, The teacher said what would be done each week.

The topics within the blog were never very difficult and were quite free. I think that comment on other blogs, it helped me to know my classmates of the university and their interests. Something that I wouldn´t do in a normal class.

I would like in a future to include in the blog the possibility of making comments, critiques or small essays from some movie or TV series. I feel that the area that costs me most in English is listen to the language in a real contexts, without the "perfection" of the audios made for the English class.

See you soon!

My Indignation: Catholic Church

Some days ago, we learned that the Australian cardinal and finance chief of the Vatican, George Pell, is being accused by the Australian Justice for sexual crimes against minors from 1996 to 2001.

Again, we see how the Catholic Church is involved in cases of sexual abuse and again, we see how the highest religious authority, the Pope, keep silent.

But George Pell is not any man in the church. His role as treasurer makes him the third most powerful man in the Vatican. In addition, he was one of the candidates to succeed Pope Benedict XVI, after his resignation.

This accusation it wouldn’t be the first time that he is linked with cases of pederasty. In 2002 he was accused of having sex with minors in the 1960’s. And, as the Vatican's number three, he did deaf ear to allegations, that have been increased since last decade, against church officials.

But, before all this, the most important man in the Catholic religion, who would oversee "clean and transform the church" from within, He hasn’t only supported Pell, but once more he has kept quiet.

The position of the Catholic Church is no more than a “slap” to its faithful and, especially, to the victims of abuse that at some point in their lives believed in the church as an institution.

The importance of Communication

Since I was in school, I have always liked Language and Communication. I know a lot of people disagree this subject. Even, they think it's an unnecessary bundle for their works and daily life. Somes, don’t see the importance of language beyond school, where Language is he area where you learn to read.

But the Language and Communication is much more than that. How can companies be organized and not through communication? Humans are animals that are constantly communicating. If I’m not speaking, also is an act of communication.

In secondary school, I am interested in the study of the processes of language construction over time. I liked the idea of think in language as "something alive" that is always changing: is transformed, mutated, dies and is born again.

Grammar, Latin American and Contemporary Literature, Reading Comprehension and write essays were the content that I enjoyed most do.

Now, in the University We see this contents in others forms. The theory is much more studied than practice. For example, Semiology, Classics of Communication and Cultural Studies are subjects that I've enjoyed in the career.

For me, language has always been my favorite subject and the most interesting. Also, I believe that teachers are fundamental to teaching. In my case, my language teachers of the school marked my interest in this area, as well my decision to study Journalism

CIPER

CIPER Chile is one of my favorite websites to review national news.
Ciper is an acronym for "Centro de Investigación Periodística" and was created in 2007 by a group of independent journalists. Its director is the chilean journalist, Mónica González.

It is a very young media and online diffusion. However, one of his most important investigations has been the called "Caso Karadima", which ended with the Catholic priest, Fernando Karadima, formalized by sexual crimes.

I like the rigor and responsibility with which they work. All publications are backed by the respective documents and sources. So, the users can check the information on their own.

Also, it has the participation and collaboration of important national journalists, who regularly publish opinion columns and reports on the website. Among them are journalists Daniel Matamala, Mónica González and Claudia Lagos.

They don’t publish with the same frequency and regularity as their online counterparts (El Desconcierto, El Mostrador). So, I usually visit your page once a week or when a notice comes to my mail about a recent publication that maybe interest me.

The information inside the website is very clear and orderly. It is organized on a temporary orden, with the most recent at the beginning and the most popular publications are at the side. If you want to visit this interesting page can do it by this link www.ciperchile.cl

My old friend

I met René when she was only 2 months old. She was very small, compared to her brothers and didn’t eat much. Also, she didn’t walk well because one of her legs was sick.

She is a female dog and was the daughter of my grandmother's dog, Toti. She had 4 puppies and all could be adopted, except René.

My mom doesn’t like dogs, but René was so pretty, quiet and small that she finally accepted her.
She came to my house in 2010 and we were partners for 5 years. When I came to Santiago she was "alone" because my parents didn’t have time to take care of her. She needed special care because she was always sick.

We decided that she should be given for adoption to a girl my mother knew. My mom knew she would take care of René and give her love.

The bad was that my parents gave to René when I was in Santiago and I couldn’t say goodbye to her. I miss her but I know she will be better with someone who can be with her all day.

Just for a photo

I will never forget this photo.

I took it in April 8th, of this year, in the National Stadium when my team, U. of Chile, played against Colo Colo.
It was the classic of national football and the security measures in the stadium was very stricter.
Therefore, the exit of the stadium was very strict and carried out under the look of police. First, came out the U. of Chile's fans and then, the Colo Colo's fans.

When I went out with my friends, and together  U. de Chile's fans, one of my friends she wanted take a photo to player Franz Schultz.
We wait for him for an hour. When Schultz came out, my friend achieved be near him.

But, the anecdote of this story happened after taken those photo.
We had so excited that we didn't realize of the hour.

A friend was wearing the team's shirt and, little by little, we felt how the looks of hates fell on us.
Those looks turned in jeer and then in screams.
We couldn't get out because some opponent fans wanted hit us.

To sum up, we left two hours after the end of the game.
